- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★We started the day off with a walking tour where our guide took us around to some of the major sites/buildings. He explained the history of them in detail and it was absolutely incredible to learn about the tragic things that went on at this place. We then had some time to explore the buildings before going on the Harbour Cruise. We then spent the afternoon finishing off learning about the buildings and walking around the site. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you're going in winter make sure you dress warmly as the breeze off the water makes it quite chilly!By Emily Lanham, May 22, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Great masses of history here. Heaps of things to see and do. Our guides were great, came with a school group. Highly recommended the ghost tour, there is an amazing unseen side to the site at nightBy Amba Mulcahy, February 10, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Some of the bad reviews on here must be a joke. The site has a huge historic value to not only Tasmania or Australia but the world. It is no different to other historic places around the world. Whether it be Rome, Jerusalem or Egypt. The importance of this site is extremely significant. If you cannot appreciate the history or the pain and suffering that has taken place here, I am not sure why you would even bother making the trip and then leave a negative review. It is a jewel not only in Tasmania's crown but Australia's. The scenery is amazing, the site is extremely haunting if you actually read up or learn about the events that have taken place here. Overall it is fascinating and spectacular. You just have to grant it the respect it deserves and actually try and understand what this site meant to the past occupants.By The Truth, August 03, 2016
